I'm happy with Trailblazer, my new art piece.
I used Vue 11 for the base environment and 3ds Max 2014 for the base ship model. I added lots of small detail and weathering with PhotoShop cs5. The terrain was a bit too clean so I grunged up the edges a bit. Most of the thin structural ship details and seams are photoshoped.
Lighting really helped. I'm a fan of the 'golden hour' and it really helps it pop.

I'd like to thank all you folks who've been commenting on and Faving my latest 3D pieces: Dawn Patrol and Limping Home.
It makes me want to do more and I will. Going through some Life changes for the next couple weeks but I hope to keep it up once the dust settles.

I brought out Bomi, my bestest buddy in the world today. As I did for last Christmas I had to do another portrait. Saw a scarf at Kroger's and just new it had to be for bomi. I treated it a bit as the image of National Geographic's cover of the young Afghan woman.
Hope you enjoy it. He's a rescue, and of my few true friends in life he is among the greatest.
